SA WORX

Growing From Within

Thriving communities rely on a skilled workforce. Our workforce strategy focuses on building our people from within to directly support the needs of regional employers.

Our SA WORX programs focus on developing our talent pipeline by engaging youth in work-based learning starting in high school. By introducing San Antonio students to the many career opportunities that exist here, we’re building an even greater workforce of the future.

Ready to Work Partner

The City of San Antonio’s Ready to Work program is one of the first of its kind tax-payer funded investment of over $200 million to help San Antonians access job training and certificate and degree completion aligned with in-demand careers in our community. While cities across our nation are grappling with disruptions to the workforce, this innovative investment is aimed at providing the training and supports needed for low-wage workers to successfully take on jobs that will provide them and their families economic mobility. The success of the program requires dedicated engagement from all stakeholders especially our employers and the business community.

We are a proud Ready to Work partner and the lead entity supporting employer engagement for the program. As the lead employer engagement partner, SA WORX works closely with the City to engage employers and business leaders to support this investment by informing target industry talent needs through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) framework, providing real-time, local data on short and mid-term hiring needs and the associated training and skills needed.
