President POV
As we close out 2024, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the remarkable progress we have made together—as OneSATX. This year has been a testament to the power of collaboration, vision, and determination—a year defined by extraordinary achievements and unparalleled momentum. Together, we have transformed ambitious goals into reality, solidifying our region as the premier destination for businesses to grow and thrive.
This year, we celebrated surpassing our five-year capital investment goal of $5 billion—well ahead of schedule—exceeding $6 billion in investments since 2021. Those investments have created more than 16,700 high-quality jobs for the Greater San Antonio region, empowering economic mobility and positively transforming lives across our community.
Some of the big wins of the year include Guidehouse’s commitment to creating 1,000 new jobs and Toyota’s $500+ million expansion—their largest investment in San Antonio to date. Companies like Confinity Robotics, Clearwater Benefits, and cybersecurity innovators Diné Development Corporation and NukuDo have chosen San Antonio for their growth, further strengthening our region’s thriving industries.
These successes are no accident—they are the result of a bold and focused strategy. Through our All In regional economic development plan, we’ve invested in our people and our place to drive sustainable growth. Since its launch in 2021, regional educational attainment has increased by more than six percentage points—outpacing peer regions. With over 170,000 students enrolled in local colleges and universities, San Antonio is building a robust talent pipeline to fuel our long-term economic vitality.
Since 2021, more than 32,000 students have participated in greater:SATX workforce initiatives including Job Shadow Days, High School Summer Internships, and the Alamo Fellows program, gaining valuable real-world experiences and access to pathways toward high-quality careers. These programs create life-changing opportunities, fostering economic mobility, and shaping the workforce of tomorrow.
Transformative infrastructure projects, like the new terminal at the San Antonio International Airport, reflect our region’s commitment to being a globally connected hub for talent and business. With our first-ever nonstop trans-Atlantic flight and new routes to key markets like Washington, D.C., San Antonio is strengthening its position on the global stage.
As we step into 2025, we do so with tremendous momentum and boundless optimism. This is a moment to celebrate the milestones we have achieved and to embrace the opportunities that lie ahead. Together, we are shaping a brighter, more prosperous future for the Greater San Antonio community.
Here’s to another year of growth, opportunity, and success. Cheers to an even greater 2025!
Greater Together,
Jenna Saucedo-Herrera
