Economic Development Performance Based Incentives

Several of the regional economic development corporations within the San Antonio MSA are established as either “Type A” or “Type B” corporations. As such, they can issue loans and grants funded by the Type A or Type B tax the corporation collects. These revenues can be used to fund a wide variety of projects including land, buildings, equipment, facilities expenditures and improvements for primary job creators. Each incentive program is slightly different among the regional economic development corporations, but they can be carefully tailored for a company’s needs and based on the number of jobs, amount of wages above the average county or industry wage, and capital investment to the community.​
