President's POV

Economic development gets measured by what gets announced. Jobs. Investment. Square footage. Groundbreakings.

But the announcement is the last chapter. The story gets written years earlier.

Toyota's $3.6 billion, 2,000 new job expansion is a defining investment for San Antonio and one that is more than two decades in the making. The decision reflects what Toyota and San Antonio have built, together. A workforce that performs. Partners who deliver. A region that invests in itself.

Attracting investment from global companies takes more than land and a good presentation. Companies choose the region that can prove five things quickly. Workers will be there. Infrastructure can carry the growth. The site is ready. The partners are aligned so decisions will not stall. The region bets on itself.

And the communities that win are checking those boxes, while boldly investing in themselves to continue winning.

This win is defining. What we do now defines our next big win.

Greater together,
