How has Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation shifted since the start of the covid-19 pandemic?
Like many economic development organizations, Boerne Kendall County Economic Development Corporation (BKCEDC) shifted its primary focus to business retention at the start of the pandemic. Working closely with the City, County, and Chamber of Commerce, we created a COVID resource website specific to our county, as well as launched a Shop Local campaign that was highly successful and led to the highest-ever sales tax collection for the community.
As the world opened back up, an influx of businesses were re-evaluating their location decisions and looking to communities like Kendall County, as it provides a great quality of life with easy access to 2 major metro areas, San Antonio and Austin. There is a continued uptick in the number of businesses considering Kendall County, and BKCEDC is focused on encouraging those businesses to grow alongside them.
