Tell us about Terracon's work and how your team supports infrastructure and development projects in the San Antonio region.
Terracon supports the full lifecycle of infrastructure and development projects through integrated environmental, geotechnical, construction materials, and facilities engineering services. In the San Antonio region, we work alongside public agencies, utilities, developers, and design teams to identify risks early, inform design decisions, and keep projects moving.
From major transportation and energy systems to healthcare, education, and commercial development, our role is to ensure projects are built on a sound technical foundation and meet regulatory and long-term performance requirements.
What attracted Terracon to San Antonio, and how has the region’s growth influenced your work?
San Antonio’s scale, economic diversity, and sustained population growth made it a strong fit for Terracon. Expansion across transportation corridors, housing, healthcare, and advanced manufacturing is driving demand for infrastructure that performs under long-term growth conditions.
That growth is increasing project complexity, particularly in geotechnical conditions, environmental constraints, and system capacity. Our work has evolved accordingly, and our continued investment in San Antonio reflects a long-term commitment to supporting that growth.
How would you describe Terracon's approach to supporting safe, sustainable, and resilient development?
We focus on identifying and managing risk early and applying science-based solutions to support informed decisions. Safety is foundational to how we operate and is driven by our Incident and Injury-Free® (IIF®) culture, which emphasizes accountability and proactive hazard awareness.
Our teams work closely with clients to address site conditions, regulatory requirements, and long-term performance expectations. The goal is straightforward: infrastructure that performs as intended, safely, reliably, and over time.
Can you highlight a project or initiative that reflects Terracon’s impact in San Antonio?
Terracon has supported projects that directly enable regional growth, including transportation improvements, healthcare expansions, higher education campuses, and civic developments.
Our work includes materials testing and engineering support for healthcare systems, airport infrastructure, and key transportation corridors such as I‑35. These projects strengthen mobility, expand access to care, and improve regional connectivity, core elements of economic growth.
Why did Terracon choose to invest in greater:SATX?
greater:SATX brings alignment between public and private partners around infrastructure, talent, and business growth. That alignment is essential to sustained economic development.
Terracon’s work supports that mission directly. By helping deliver reliable infrastructure, viable sites, and resilient facilities, we enable new investment and job creation across the region.
Is there anything else you’d like to share about Terracon’s presence in the region?
Terracon operates as a local team with deep ties to the San Antonio community. We maintain long-standing partnerships across the public and private sectors and continue to invest alongside the region.
As growth continues, our focus remains on supporting infrastructure and development that positions San Antonio for long-term performance and competitiveness.
