Tell us about Corgan’s work and how your team is shaping the built environment in the San Antonio region.

Corgan has worked in the San Antonio region serving clients across aviation and transportation, data centers, education, health, government, multifamily, office, and workplace environments. What attracted Corgan to San Antonio, and how has the region’s growth influenced your work?

San Antonio’s cultural authenticity, sustained population growth, and expanding economic sectors make it one of the most dynamic regions in Texas. With a local office in Frost Tower, Corgan remains focused on projects that strengthen connectivity, support development, and respond thoughtfully to local history, climate, and cultural identity.

The city’s continued investment in infrastructure, education, workplace environments, and digital capacity aligns closely with Corgan’s design priorities and reinforces the firm’s long-term commitment to the region.

How would you describe Corgan’s design philosophy?

Corgan approaches every project with a commitment to innovative, data-driven, and people-centered design. By understanding how clients and communities use space, the firm creates environments that support well-being, adaptability, and long-term performance.

This approach is strengthened by Corgan’s in-house sustainability team, Echo, and its research and innovation group, Hugo, which bring evidence-based insights into design decisions. In San Antonio, Corgan looks for opportunities to incorporate natural materials, improve environmental performance, and create welcoming spaces that reflect the city’s climate, culture, and regional identity.

Can you highlight a project that reflects Corgan’s impact in San Antonio?

One of Corgan’s most significant current projects is the new terminal at San Antonio International Airport, designed in collaboration with Lake|Flato Architects. Expected to open in 2028, the 900,000-square-foot terminal will feature 17 gates and be fully electric, placing it among a small number of U.S. airports with this capability.

The project will unify Terminals A and B into a cohesive travel experience while supporting future passenger capacity and regional economic growth. Its design draws inspiration from the Texas Hill Country and the River Walk, incorporating natural materials and warm earth tones to create a modern passenger experience that reflects San Antonio’s character from the moment visitors arrive.

Why did Corgan choose to invest in greater:SATX?
