A record-setting third quarter gave greater:SATX investors an opportunity to reflect on the region’s economic momentum, recent project wins, and the opportunities shaping Greater San Antonio’s future.
During greater:SATX’s Q3 Investor Meeting, attendees received updates on project activity, regional competitiveness, and MOMENTUM:2030 implementation, while hearing perspectives from business and policy leaders on issues expected to influence economic development across Texas in the years ahead.
Hosted by Jackson Walker, the meeting brought together investors, business leaders, and regional stakeholders to discuss the factors shaping Greater San Antonio’s ability to attract investment, create jobs, and remain competitive in an increasingly dynamic economic environment. Investors were welcomed by Patrick Tobin, Julia Mann, and the Jackson Walker team, whose continued support and partnership help advance the region’s economic development efforts.
The program featured Gary Farmer, President of Heritage Title Company and Founding Chairman of Opportunity Austin, along with a fireside conversation between Matt Abel, Vice President of Government Relations for the Texas Economic Development Council, and Jonathan Gurwitz, Partner at K Harvey Brand Partners. Together, they offered perspectives on regional competitiveness, economic development policy, and key issues expected to shape the upcoming Texas legislative session.

Drawing on decades of economic development experience, Gary Farmer shared his perspective on greater:SATX’s progress, noting that the organization compares favorably with other successful regional economic development efforts in their early years. He also emphasized that continued progress will require focus, alignment, and execution as the region competes for future investment and growth opportunities.
His message reinforced a consistent theme throughout the meeting: sustained economic success depends on collaboration, regional alignment, and a long-term commitment to competitiveness.
Economic Development Issues to Watch
The discussion with Matt Abel and Jonathan Gurwitz focused on several issues influencing economic development efforts across Texas, including data center growth, power availability, infrastructure investment, site readiness, and the policy environment surrounding economic development tools and project recruitment. The conversation also explored how evolving state policy priorities could shape the economic development environment in the years ahead.
The discussion underscored the importance of positioning Greater San Antonio to compete effectively for future investment as economic conditions, industry trends, and public policy continue to evolve.
Strong Results Continue to Drive Momentum
During the meeting, Sarah Carabias Rush, President and CEO of greater:SATX, shared an update on MOMENTUM:2030 implementation and recent economic development activity.
The organization reported a strong third quarter, including five project wins that contributed to year-to-date totals of approximately $4.8 billion in announced capital investment and more than 7,000 new jobs across the region, marking its strongest year of growth to date.
Recent wins included investments from Toyota, IEM, H-E-B, Blackwave, KTH, and Runway Xpress, reflecting continued activity across advanced manufacturing, logistics, and other target industries.
Looking Ahead
Investors also received an update on the organization’s active project pipeline, which currently includes 55 active projects representing approximately 25,930 potential jobs and $12 billion in potential capital investment. Manufacturing, aerospace, advanced technology, energy, and semiconductor projects continue to represent significant opportunities for regional growth.
Looking ahead, greater:SATX previewed several upcoming business development and marketing initiatives designed to support business recruitment, foreign direct investment, and long-term regional competitiveness.
