A 360-degree view from the Greater SATX Region

As cities in between San Antonio and Austin continue their rapid growth, the San Antonio-Austin mega-region is taking shape. As a greater San Antonio, Texas region, we continue to plan boldly, with intention, to grow in a way that benefits all San Antonians.

Earlier this month, greater:SATX and Opportunity Austin announced a formalized a partnership to help advance legislative priorities that will enhance the future of economic development and job creation in Texas.

Advancing legislative priorities is the first step, with significant opportunities for continued collaboration and alignment between our two metro areas. It’s critical for our teams to prioritize shared advocacy for collective prosperity and, beyond that, our regions share a mutual interest in infrastructure, education, and workforce development to foster even greater economic growth.

Beyond our mega-region, all eyes are on San Antonio this week for the economic development community. San Antonio is the host city for the 2023 Site Selectors Guild Conference, bringing leading global site selection consultants and economic development professionals to our region. Conference organizers are reporting that this is the highest attended event in Guild history!

The conference gives greater:SATX, regional partners, and our investors the opportunity to host the world’s leading site selection consultants who are influencing the largest economic decisions in the country. We’ve seen time and time again that once consultants and companies have an opportunity to come here and experience San Antonio, they are sold on the richness of our culture and the strength of our industries and workforce.

As we continue to look ahead to our mega-regional future, our strategy will not waver. We are making the right investments now in San Antonio’s people and place, and these significant milestones for our region will help to grow jobs in the future.
