SafeRide Health Plans Downtown S.A. Expansion

SafeRide Health, a California-based healthcare tech company, plans to expand into Texas with a new operation in downtown San Antonio. Pending local incentive approvals, SafeRide plans on investing in their new downtown location and creating high-growth logistics and engineering jobs.

“We look forward to joining the downtown San Antonio business community and working to improve the health outcomes for more than 1 million Texans,” said Robbins Schrader, co-founder and CEO of SafeRide Health. “We are thrilled to partner with leading Texas healthcare providers who entrust SafeRide Health with increasing patient access to care.”

SafeRide’s mission is to restore access and dignity to care. SafeRide is transforming access to healthcare for the nation’s underserved populations through its proprietary technology platform that simplifies medical transport, streamlines care coordination, and improves patient outcomes. SafeRide plans to locate its operations in the Burns building in downtown San Antonio.

“Mission-driven employers like SafeRide Health attract great, talented people,” said Bexar County Judge Nelson Wolff. “We look forward to welcoming SafeRide Health to our growing downtown tech community as they will provide impactful jobs for San Antonians.”

SafeRide’s technology provides end-to-end data transparency while improving patient experience, population health, and program efficiency. SafeRide then tailors managed services to each health plan’s unique needs and goals. The company plans to create approximately 100 new jobs over 5 years to support business operations, engineering, member and network services, human resources, finance, and IT.

SafeRide is venture-backed firm and supported by leading investors and healthcare partners. The company evaluated several cities before selecting San Antonio for this expansion.

“The Covid-19 pandemic further highlighted disparities in healthcare access and outcomes in our country. SafeRide Health is an exceptional addition to our San Antonio tech community, providing innovative solutions to remove transportation barriers and increase access to healthcare for underserved Texans,” said Jenna Saucedo-Herrera, president & CEO of the San Antonio Economic Development Foundation.

On April 6, Bexar County Commissioners Court will consider an incentive package to support SafeRide’s planned San Antonio expansion. Pending incentive approvals, the company plans to be fully operational by June 1st, 2021.

SafeRide is committed to creating great jobs with competitive compensation and benefits, and development opportunities within the high-growth company. For more information on jobs available with SafeRide Health, click here.
