Investor Spotlight: Dynamic Advancement
In San Antonio, the ecosystem of education and training programs equip the more than 400 cybersecurity firms to hire top tier local talent. Dynamic Advancement is a veteran-owned and operated professional development firm that specializes in the advancement of cybersecurity training and certification for the defense and commercial sectors.
Co-located at Port San Antonio with industry giants such as Booz Allen Hamilton, Lockheed Martin, General Dynamics, and Air Forces Cyber Command, Dynamic Advancement remains at the cutting edge of both defense and commercial sector certification training and advancement.
At the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, Dynamic Advancement joined in supporting local workforce recovery efforts to connect San Antonians to new career opportunities. In partnership with SA Works, Workforce Solutions Alamo and Project Quest, with funding from the City of San Antonio and Bexar County, Dynamic Advancement is one of several accredited training providers working to provide San Antonians a pathway to gain employment and/or increase their earning potential through careers in cybersecurity. Following a skills and career assessment, participants may begin high school equivalency preparation, short-term, long-term or on-the-job training.
Announced this summer, Dynamic Advancement will be the first tenant to host students for in-person training at Port San Antonio and San Antonio Museum of Science and Technology’s training center. Based in a former gymnasium on the Port’s southwest side campus, the training center allows for proper social distancing for students to safely learn in person. This space also allows Dynamic Advancement to open its program to more students in each cohort.
Instructors at Dynamic Advancement are industry professionals and provide a Texas Workforce Commission endorsed curriculum that aligns with current industry demand. The first cohort of 120 students will begin their one month of training on October 5, 2020, at the new SAMSAT workforce development center. Qualified participants are eligible to receive stipends for actual time spent in the training program and on-the-job training. Dynamic Advancement also supports its students by providing laptops and industry mentorship, as well as career counseling support through Workforce Solutions Alamo.
It’s a partnership made possible in San Antonio’s collaborative workforce development and education ecosystem.
“As I was transitioning out of the Air Force, I had fully intended to return home to Hawaii to continue my career, but seeing the terrain in San Antonio ripe with opportunity, I stayed here to grow this business,” said Dr. Kekai Namauu, president of Dynamic Advancement. “It’s humbling to be a partner in this massive workforce recovery effort that should empower tens of thousands of San Antonians to achieve greater career growth and economic mobility.”
